Flying in russia ?

Flying in russia ?

Сообщение laurent laborde 1273904 » 29 дек 2013, 19:40

Friendly greetings ladies en gentlemen, i'm a french pilot willing to fly in russia with my all-time favorite plane : the Antonov-24

I know there is some specific stuff in russia, like using the standard metric system (which is a good thing if you ask me).

I have a few questions for you :

Where can i find some basic free russian airport scenery (i don't care about the shiny stuff, i just need the correct taxiway and some gate/ramp to connect), for xplane.

in Xsquawkbox, should i fill the cruise alt in feet : FL160 or in meters : 5000 ? or Km : 5 ?

is the RSBN system usable (i think it's directly implemented in the An-24 so i guess it's : yes) ? is there a map ? can i tell an ATC that i want to use this instead of VOR ?

is there something specific to russia that i didn't think about ?
Thank you very much ! *hugs*

Hello!
Russia has implemented feet flight levels similar to what Europe has. But still uses meters below the transition level.
Sceneries for X-plane can be downloaded from here:
http://www.avsimrus.com/f/x-plane-scenarii-94/
It's a google-translated version of the famous russian aviation web resource.
